Kate Middleton is one of the royals deemed “lazy” by the public.

The latest statistics from the Press Association listed the number of engagements that the royal family attended so far in 2019. Based on the list, Markle attended 17, Middleton did 31, Prince Edward had 36, Prince William showed up at 38 events and Prince Harry attended 39. Queen Elizabeth II carried out 41, Camilla Parker Bowles had 50 and Prince Charles did 70. Princess Anne remained the hardest working royal with 85 engagements.

The Republicans were furious with the result and said that it was an “insult” to the British taxpayers. Graham Smith, CE of Republic, a pressure group for a “democratic alternative to the monarchy,” claimed that there is no such thing as a “hardworking royal.” He pointed out that it was just a myth to justify the family’s “hyper-subsidized lives.”

“Of course Kate Middleton doesn’t work hard, and of course she should either do something useful with her position or stop taking money from the taxpayers,” he said of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Last week, the royals claimed that the whole family attended 3,200 engagements. While the number sounds a lot, Smith pointed out that it only adds up to an average of 30 days of work per royal per year.

“It’s an insult to the hard working nurses, doctors, teachers and police officers, who are struggling to cope with widespread cuts, to call the tax-funded royals ‘hard working,’” he added.

On Monday, Middleton visited the “Back to Nature Garden” that she co-designed at the Chelsea Flower in May. She stepped out in a $200 Sandro dress which is way cheaper than Markle’s Stella McCartney attire on Saturday for a baseball game that cost $1,035.

On Tuesday, Middleton stepped out again and made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon. The Duchess of Cambridge is a huge tennis fan, so her attendance wasn’t very surprising.

Middleton is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Last year, she attended Wimbledon with her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. It was their first joint outing. She made another appearance at the event with her husband, Prince William.
