Kate Middleton opened up about her amazing grandmother and her experience raising her kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The Duchess of Cambridge appeared on a special episode of podcast “Happy Mum, Happy Baby” hosted by Giovanna Fletcher. During her guesting, the royal mom of three shares how it was to be a royal mom. She also talked about her grandmother.
“I had an amazing Granny who devoted a lot of time to us—playing with us, doing arts and crafts, and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us—and I try and incorporate a lot of the experiences that she gave us at the time into the experiences that I give my children now,” Middleton said.
Prince William’s wife described her own experiences and her eight years of research and experience in the sector involving kids and moms. Middleton said that there are few things that stood out for her and it includes “quality of relationship” which she refers to the moments one spends with the people around him or her and that was what she remember from her own childhood.
“There are also the environments you spend time in as well: a happy home, a safe environment,“ Middleton added.
“As children, we spent a lot of time outside and it’s something I’m really passionate about. I think it’s so great for physical and mental wellbeing and laying [developmental] foundations. It’s such a great environment to spend time in, building those quality relationships without the distractions of ‘I’ve got to cook’ and ‘I’ve got to do this.’ And actually, it’s so simple.”
Prince William and Middleton are taking a break from their royal duties from Feb. 17 to Feb. 21. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be spending time with their kids on their half-term break from school.
The future king and queen always slows down with their duties when it’s their children’s break from school to have quality time with them. The palace has not announced where the family will spend their vacation, but many believe they deserve it as Prince William and Middleton have been taking on more royal duties following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit.
An insider said that Prince William and Middleton’s hectic schedule has brought them closer together. The couple has been working as a team which is very essential following the various controversies that hit the royal family that led to Prince Andrew, Prince Harry and Markle’s resignation.
