Kate Middleton and Prince William enjoy romantic lunch date before picking up Prince George and Princess Charlotte from school.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Cumbria recently. Their visit included shearing a sheep and tasting some local produce. They also met several kids who waited for their arrival.

Before the couple headed back to London, Prince William and Middleton reportedly enjoyed a romantic lunch, Mirror reported. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge popped into the Inn on the Lake, a hotel on the Lake Ullswater for afternoon tea. However, they didn’t stay long. Middleton told the hotel staff that she was hoping to be in time to pick up their kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte from school.

A spokesperson for the hotel confirmed Prince William and Middleton’s visit. The spokesperson said that the royal couple stopped for “quite a short break.” In the photos shared on Instagram, Prince William and Middleton are still wearing the same outfits from their engagement.

The staff and guests who were very pleased to see the royals shared some photos and videos on Instagram.

“Our Sales Manager Teresa and Dani, one of our Hotel Directors both had the pleasure of meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!” the caption read.

The staff couldn’t believe that the royal couple just visited them. According to them, they were still on cloud 9 a day after seeing Prince William and Middleton.

“It's an absolute pleasure to say that our hotel has finally gotten the 'royal seal of approval'!” they wrote.

The hotel is a popular wedding venue due to its stunning backdrop. It has 47 en-suite rooms with breathtaking views of Lake Ullswater and Helvellyn mountain range.

In related news, Middleton’s family and home were reportedly her secret weapon in winning Prince William and the rest of the members of the royal family.

According to Andrew Morton, the Duke of Cambridge eventually called Middleton’s father, Michael Middleton, “dad.” Middleton’s close-knit family was very appealing to the second-in-line to the throne who was a product of an unhappy marriage.

Queen Elizabeth II was also very fond of Middleton for the same report. Her Majesty loves the fact that Middleton is close to her family and doesn’t steal the spotlight from Prince William.
