Kate Middleton, Prince William No Royal Engagements Next Week For This Reason

Prince William and Kate Middleton will not carry out any royal engagements next week as they will be focusing on their family.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be taking a short break from the royal circuit to enjoy family time with their three children: 5-year-old Prince George, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte and 9-month-old Prince Louis.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are on half-term of their school year from Thomas’s Battersea and Willcocks Nursery School and will be having a short break from their regular classes.

According to Ainhoa Barcelona, a journalist for Hello!, the palace usually doesn’t schedule any official engagements during the kids’ holidays. Prince William and Middleton may head to their country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk. The family usually spends Christmas, Easter and summer there.

It’s also possible that the family of five will have a ski trip. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their first ski holiday in the French Alps in March 2016 when Princess Charlotte was just 10 months old. The couple might do the same to let Prince Louis experience his first taste of snow.

Prince William and Middleton’s break might be an issue to some of their critics. Just recently, it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be visiting Morocco at the request of Her Majesty’s government.

Some netizens questioned the decision as Markle is heavily pregnant but was still asked to travel. On the other hand, others wondered why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge don’t have any scheduled royal engagements abroad.

According to one netizen, the palace is putting Prince Harry and Markle “front and center,” which only makes Prince William and Middleton look “ineffective.” However, other netizens disagreed and insisted that Prince William and Middleton “look bad all on their own.”

A number of netizens also aired their disappointment with Middleton on Twitter. One user said that Middleton wasn’t at the level she should be eight years after joining the royal fold. She added that the duchess was “forever stuck at year 1.”

Another compared Middleton to Markle who just joined the royal family less than a year ago and has accomplished a lot. A different user dubbed Middleton as “duchess do little.”
