Kate Middleton and Prince William are Queen Elizabeth II’s saving grace.

The Queen is facing another “annus horribilis” due to the various controversies plaguing the members of the royal family from Prince Philip’s health, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s criticism to Prince Andrew’s scandal. Good thing the monarch found a saving grace in the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“It should be noted that it was an extremely good year for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Those looking to the future of the monarchy will see their charitable work and trip to Pakistan as impeccable,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.

“William has earlier been superb in handling sensitive issues in his visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories In 2018.”

The expert pointed out how Prince William and Middleton carried out the most complex tour during their visit to Pakistan. He praised the couple for braving security issues and bad weather which even forced them to cancel one engagement due to mid-air scare. The future king and queen consort also carried on with their charitable works and initiatives including Heads Together.

Middleton also showed a huge improvement this year. The Duchess of Cambridge has transformed to a more confident royal eight years after joining the Firm. In fact, Lorraine Kelly said that Middleton is more than her beautiful wardrobe. She said that Middleton has “quietly and effectively emerged as the Queen’s top asset in the Royal Family.”

“Camilla will obviously never have anything like the same respect and affection as Her Majesty, but skipping a generation, Kate has all the attributes to be a very effective Monarch one day at William’s side. She’s bright, beautiful and has a big big heart,” Kelley added.

An insider told Dan Wootton of The Sun earlier that many are concerned about the Queen. The source said that Her Majesty is under strain and many are worried because she is already 93 and the issues are going to take a real toll on her. Wootton described this year as the monarch’s “annus horribilis 2.
