Kate Middleton and Princess Diana look so happy in a rare photo created by a royal fan.

An edited snap of the late Princess of Wales and Duchess of Cambridge was shared on Instagram. In the picture, both are seated beside each other and are smiling from ear to ear.

Middleton is so gorgeous in her signature curls and off-the-shoulder dress. Meanwhile, Princess Diana is very sophisticated in her one-shoulder gown. A number of netizens who saw the photo were pleased to see the two women in one picture.

“This is amazing,” one user commented.

A different user wrote that both are beautiful. Another said that they are natural princesses.

Another netizen said that Princess Diana and Middleton “would have been the best of friends.” Meanwhile, others find it creepy since Princess Diana passed away over two decades ago. In reality, Middleton never met Princess Diana.

In a past interview with ABC host Katie Couric, the father-of-three confessed that he was sad that his mom didn’t get to meet the love of his life. Prince William was very positive about Princess Diana’s possible opinion on his relationship with Middleton.

“I think she would have loved the day and I think, hopefully, she'd be very proud of us both for the day. I'm just very sad that she's never going to get a chance to meet Kate,” Prince William said.

Although Prince William’s mother and wife didn’t meet, the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess of Wales have similarities. According to Richard Kay in the documentary “Reinventing the Royals,” both were followed by photographers.

Before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge confirmed their relationship publicly, the paparazzi were spotted outside Middleton’s house daily, taking photographs of her. One time in 2001 when the Duchess of Cambridge was at Heathrow airport, some paparazzi shouted abusive phrases in hopes of getting her attention, so they could snap photos of her.

Stig Abell, a former employee of the Press Complaints Commission likened Middleton’s experience to Princess Diana’s. According to her, the People’s Princess was being pursued by photographers.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s marriage was different from the Prince and Princess of Wales. According to biographer Andrew Morton, Prince William and Middleton are a happy couple and are in love. He added that their romance has the “right ingredients for longevity” which Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage lacked.
