Kate Middleton and Princess Diana have similar parenting styles.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Princess of Wales are both down to earth. They also have the same approach when dealing with their kids.

In the photos shared by The Sun, Middleton’s reaction when Princess Charlotte cheekily stuck her tongue out during the King’s Cup regatta was reminiscent of Princess Diana’s when she took Prince William and Prince Harry for a family day out at Thorpe Park in 1993.

Also, Princess Diana was very loving to her two boys. She was often seen in vacation with Prince William and Prince Harry. During their trip to the island of Necker in April 1990, she was seen playing at the beach with the two dukes. Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom was always connected to them by typically keeping a hand on them at all times.

Middleton was also spotted in the same scene. In June 2018, she brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to watch Prince William’s polo game at Beaufort Polo Clubs. The two toddlers were playing around and Middleton looked at ease. Just like Princess Diana, she knew how to handle them.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out to launch the inaugural King’s Cup regatta to raise awareness of their patronages. Middleton was spotted on camera telling Princess Charlotte to wave, but the little princess didn’t comply. She instead stuck her tongue out and the duchess just laughed.

Netizens believed that Middleton’s reaction was normal. Also, Princess Charlotte is only four, so for the crowd, her action wasn’t offensive but just normal for kids her age. Many even find it adorable and hilarious.

Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James felt that Middleton’s mom, Carole, wasn’t as amused as her and the crowd with Princess Charlotte’s antics.

“Kate’s reaction is hilarious here and probably totally appropriate for the moment, although Grandma Carole looks as though she might be thinking of nipping this playful naughtiness in the bud,” James said.
