Kate Middleton Reportedly Forced To Make ‘Huge’ Change When Prince William Ascends The Throne
KEY POINTS
- Kate Middleton will face some changes when Prince William ascends the throne
- Kate Middleton will be called queen consort when Prince William ascends the throne
- The Duchess of Cambridge will have her own coronation when Prince William is crowned as king
Kate Middleton will reportedly be forced to make another huge change in her life when Prince William ascends the throne.
When she tied the knot with Prince William in 2011, the Duchess of Cambridge’s life completely changed. She started to perform royal duties on behalf of Queen Elizabeth, and she also became subject to strict royal rules and protocols.
And when Prince William ascends the throne, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be forced to move out of Kensington Palace. The royal couple will start living at Buckingham Palace with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Additionally, once Prince William is crowned as king, Middleton will get the title of queen consort. This title is usually given to the wife of the ruling king. When the time comes, Middleton would also have to perform even more royal duties than ever before.
The mom of three will also have her own coronation, and she will have the same social status as her husband. On the royal family’s official website, more details about the upcoming coronation were released.
“Unless decided otherwise, a Queen Consort is crowned with the King, in a similar but simpler ceremony. If the new Sovereign is a Queen, her consort is now crowned or anointed at the coronation ceremony,” they said.
Meanwhile, Camilla Parker Bowles will receive an entirely different title when Prince Charles ascends the throne in the coming years. A spokesperson for the Clarence House confirmed that there are no changes with regards to Camilla’s royal title.
The Duchess of Cornwall will simply be known as princess consort and not as queen consort as a sign of respect to the late Princess Diana. Prince Charles was first married to Princess Diana before they filed for divorce in 1996.
In 2005, Camilla and Prince Charles tied the knot in a civil ceremony. Following their nuptials, Camilla also refused the title of Princess of Wales as a sign of respect to Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom.
