Kate Middleton Reportedly ‘Relieved’ Meghan Markle Won’t Celebrate Christmas In Sandringham, Sources Claim
Kate Middleton and Prince William have reportedly shared their thoughts regarding the royal family’s upcoming Christmas celebrations.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be celebrating Christmas in Sandringham. Instead, they planned to celebrate the special occasion with the Duchess of Sussex’s mom, Doria Ragland, in the United States.
Weeks later, one of Prince William’s close friends told Closer Weekly that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are somewhat relieved that the Sussexes won’t be in Sandringham during the holidays. However, the second in line to the throne also thinks it’s strange to not have his younger brother around.
Last month, a source told BBC that Prince William and Kate think Prince Harry and Meghan are in a fragile place and they hope that they are alright. As such, the Cambridges think that it is not only right for the Sussexes to spend Christmas elsewhere.
Another source told The Sun that Prince Harry and Markle both need to recharge their batteries after an entire year of being scrutinized by the media. The royal couple was slammed for almost every single thing that they have done.
Meanwhile, the source told Closer Weekly that the Duchess of Sussex misses her mom so much so she’s really looking forward to spending time with her. Prince Harry is also excited to spend Christmas away from the royal family because he has always celebrated the occasion with them except in 2012.
“Meghan misses her mom like crazy and can’t wait to spend quality time with her. Sandringham is always fun, but it can also be quite stressful and very formal. This Christmas will be low-key and informal,” the source said.
Royal author Ingrid Seward said a similar thing.
“Christmas at Sandringham can be quite stressful, so perhaps they don’t want to go with Archie at such a young age. Having said that, Sandringham has played host to many, many children through the ages and is well set up for them,” she said.
