Kate Middleton Reveals She Can Feel The Royal Baby Kicking While Meeting With Students; Denies Knowing Gender
The Royal baby is getting rowdy! While meeting with students in Kensington on Monday, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, revealed that she could feel the future prince or princess kicking.
Middleton, 33, was on hand at the Kensington Leisure Centre to meet with students and community leaders of the Wetherby School. According to Us Weekly, the stop was part of her back-to-back tours of the London neighborhood, which also included a visit with the Family Friends organization and the Kensington Aldridge Academy. The Duchess made her visits wearing clothes from fashionable maternity designer Seraphine. Her “Seraphine Florrie Floral Print Dress” retails for $179, while the pale blue cashmere blend coat costs $349.
It was while sitting down with a few Wetherby School students that Middleton opened up about her pregnancy.
“It’s moving all the time,” the Duchess reportedly told 17-year-old student Martina McDonagh. “I can feel it kicking now.”
Middleton’s decision to use “it” when referring to her baby is not surprising. Despite rumors that Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting a girl, the Clarence House has yet to confirm the gender of the second royal baby.
“I told her I hoped it was a girl, but she said she doesn’t know yet,” McDonagh added. “She said it was moving around a lot.”
The royal pregnancy was announced in September when it was revealed that Middleton was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, an acute form of morning sickness that affected her while she was pregnant with Prince George. After taking a few weeks off from her royal duties, Middleton returned to her public position, even taking a trip to New York City in December with Prince William.
The Duke and Duchess are expected to welcome the new addition to their family in April. The baby will join one-year-old Prince George, who was born on July 22, 2013.
