Kate Middleton sent a secret message with her pink suit when she and Prince William visited NHS.
Before the lockdown, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited an NHS center in London to show their support to thefrontliners. Many praised the couple for reaching out to those who continue their service while the rest of the world are in quarantine.
Middleton sported a pink suit during the visit. According to royal expert Angela Mollard, Middleton was sending a message using her wardrobe.
“William and Kate visited the ambulance service with the NHS. I love the fact that Kate was wearing a pink Marks and Spencer suit,” Mollard told the “ROYALS” podcast listeners.
“It was absolutely gorgeous, but I love the fact it wasn't designer. It just said ‘I am one of you.’”
Mollard noted that the future queen can afford to wear anything she likes, but she opted to wear a normal outfit. She also noted that a Marks and Spencer suit is what working women in London usually wear. Mollard also praised the duchess for “effectively doing that.”
Due to the lockdown, Mollard thinks that there won’t be too much noise about the royals. However, when they release a statement, it would be at times when it is much needed.
"The Royal Family is very much seen as an institution which delivers stability to the public,” Mollard added.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton have reportedly taken over the throne already. According to a report from New Idea, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had “dramatic first days as king and queen.”
Prior to the reports, there were speculations that the Queen will make Prince William prince regent because she had to step down due to the pandemic. Prince Charles, the heir apparent, tested positive for coronavirus and is currently in self-isolation at Windsor Castle. Thus, Prince William, the third-in-line to the throne, had to step up.
“Obviously Kate and William have a very important role to play,” royal expert Phil Dampier said of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. “They are going to be the only visible royals – the face of the royal family.”
