Kate Middleton has been busy with her royal duties, but she still looked gorgeous during her most recent engagement.
The Duchess of Cambridge dressed in an all-white ensemble — blazer over a flowing skirt with lace detailing at the bottom — when she met with the parters who supported her Hold Still photography project. She hosted the representatives from the National Portrait Gallery, The Book Fairies U.K., Co-op and more.
Prince William and Middleton shared two photos from the event on Instagram. In the caption, the couple thanked the partners for their support.
"Thank you to the brilliant partners who made Hold Still a reality!" the royal couple wrote. "It took a long time to bring everyone behind this incredible project together in person but tonight we finally managed it. The idea for #HoldStill2020 came right at the start of the pandemic, and aimed to bring people and communities together, using the amazing power of photography."
Middleton also thanked the thousands of people across the country who participated in the project by sharing their experiences during the lockdown. The duchess has spoken to many of the finalists over the past year. She even shared some of the phone calls she had with them on her and Prince William's YouTube channel.
Middleton's Hold Still project aimed to capture the portrait of the nation as the people battled the pandemic. The duchess wanted to use the pictures to show the spirit of the nation and reflect the people's resilience, bravery and kindness despite the crisis.
The duchess received nearly 32,000 photos for the project. She was very thankful for everyone who shared their experience through the pictures they sent on Instagram.
"I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has entered and taken part. And a big thank you to my fellow judges," Middleton said in August 2020. "I hugely appreciate the time and dedication that they have shown towards the project."
Middleton and a panel of judges selected 100 photos out of the thousands of submissions. She shared the final selection in her Hold Still photography exhibition.
One of the most popular pictures was taken by Johannah Churchill. The photo featured her colleague and fellow nurse Melanie in her personal protective equipment while she was on duty at a clinic for COVID-19 patients.
"It has become such an iconic portrait that represents a lot of what frontline workers have experienced and what those of you across the U.K. have put your lives on the line in looking after all of us this year," Middleton said of the picture. "It certainly touched us in terms of the judging panel. We felt it was a hugely moving image. I think it has, like you say, it’s really resonated with lots of the public too."
