Kate Middleton recently surprised royal fans when she took public transportation to attend a royal engagement. Instead of taking a private vehicle, the Duchess of Cambridge was accompanied by her entourage on a three-hour train ride in northeast London.

Prince William’s wife arrived at The Nook hospices in her recycled Oscar de la Renta dress, which she paired with her black tights. The mom of three was also photographed with her Aspinal x Beulah clutch bag.

While at her royal engagement, Middleton toured The Nook’s new facilities, and she also gave a speech in front of the crowds. She said that she will forever remember the first time she visited The Nook because it was the first-ever time that she gave a speech since joining the royal family.

The future queen also praised everyone who has made The Nook a success. “You have created here at The Nook a nurturing, caring environment that allows families who are going through the unimaginable the ability to spend precious quality time with each other, comforted in the knowledge that their children are being looked after in the best possible way,” she said.

Meanwhile, Middleton also remembered her only daughter, Princess Charlotte, while at her royal engagement. Royal correspondent Rebecca English told Daily Mail that Prince William’s wife struck up a lovely conversation with one of the girls at The Nook.

The doting mom complimented the young girl’s braids and revealed that Princess Charlotte also loves braids. However, the 4-year-old’s hair is not that long.

Middleton also encountered 3-year-old Stanley Harrold, who has a rare chromosomal disorder called Pallister-Killian syndrome. The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed leaning towards the young boy while he was asleep. She also held the young boy’s legs in an attempt to comfort him.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been blessed with three children together. Prince George is now 6 years old and Prince Louis is 1 year old.
