Kate Middleton Vs Meghan Markle: Duchess Of Cambridge Richer Than ‘Suits’ Star?
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are two of the most talked about women today because of their relationship to Prince William and Prince Harry, respectively.
Fans of the royal family have also been very curious about Middleton’s and Markle’s net worth especially before they got involved with their royal partners.
Middleton was already considered “wealthy” even before she married the Duke of Cambridge. Her net worth in 2011 was estimated at over $49 million. After she joined the royal family, Middleton’s net worth increased. The Duchess of Cambridge’s expenses are all covered by Prince Charles’ estate so her personal fortune is not used.
If Prince William will take over the role of king, the couple’s fortune will greatly increase. But even if Prince William won’t be king yet, Prince Charles being king could also mean an increase in their entire family’s fortune.
Meanwhile, Markle’s fortune came mostly from her acting and modeling gig. Her recurring role in “Suits” could have given her the most profit because she starred in the series as Rachel Zane for seven seasons.
Markle’s family is not necessarily rich or as rich as Middleton’s family. In fact, her dad, Thomas Markle, is suffering from financial problems at the moment. During a recent interview, Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle-Grant, encouraged the future royal to help their dad financially.
But once Markle marries Prince Harry, she will experience the benefits that Middleton experienced as the wife of Prince William. Markle no longer has to spend her own money since Prince Harry and his family will take care of her.
Both Markle and Middleton have also been very influential to the British economy. But since the Meghan Markle Effect has just started, the Kate Middleton Effect has contributed more to the United Kingdom. It is estimated at over $13 billion.
In the coming years, the Meghan Markle Effect may be more impactful than Middleton’s, and royal supporters just have to wait and see.
