Kate Middleton Waited Until Meghan Markle Left Sandringham To Do This Activity
Kate Middleton reportedly waited until Meghan Markle had left Sandringham to engage in one activity.
Rebecca English, a royal correspondent for the Daily Mail, claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge went out shooting the day after the Duke of Sussex departed Sandringham with Prince Harry.
A royal insider claimed that Middleton purchased a 20-bore shotgun, which is much lighter and easier to use compared to the usual 12-bore shotgun.
“She frequently goes out shooting when she is staying at Anmer Hall and has become a really good shot. She is very much into the hunting, shooting, and fishing country lifestyle. The 20-gauge smoothbore gun is ideal for shooting game birds,” the source said.
Middleton has hunted before and was also photographed deer stalking with her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, at Balmoral in her 20s. She and Prince William are also planning on introducing their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to the activity when they get older.
Meanwhile, Markle did not take part in this year’s Boxing Day shoot, but she joined the royal family for lunch at Wood Farm. Initial rumors claimed that Markle banned Prince Harry from participating in the activity, but a royal source said that this is not true.
The insider also said that Markle is slowly adjusting to royal traditions even though she is not entirely comfortable with the royal family’s love of hunting and shooting. However, the “Suits” alum realized that Prince Harry’s family has been doing this activity for centuries and are not going to change their ways anytime soon.
“Harry has explained to her that the numbers of birds need to be kept down on the estate and that this is all a part of the management. She has accepted this but doesn’t like watching it,” the source said.
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip also watched this year’s Boxing Day from their Range Rover but did not participate in the shooting. But Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh were there during the festive lunch.
