Kate Middleton Will Not Miss Prince George's First Day Of School

Prince George will be returning to school next month, and his parents will be there to escort him.

The 5-year-old royal will be coming back to school in a few weeks. Prince George is set to attend Thomas's Battersea in London on Sept. 6. According to People, Kate Middleton and Prince William will drop him off on his first day of school.

Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were set to join the tot for the same event. Unfortunately, Middleton didn't make it due to severe morning sickness. So, Prince George arrived in school without Middleton, but his father was there.

In fact, the father and son posed for Prince George's first day of school portrait. Prince George looked adorable in his blue jumper and shorts. He was all smiles as he holds the Duke's hand and put his other hand inside his pocket.

According to an insider, Middleton was sad to miss Prince George's first day of school at Thomas's Battersea. But the duchess watched the news on TV.

"Kate watched the news from home," an insider said. "She was desperately sad that she couldn't make it but she is on firm bed rest now until she feels better."

Before Prince William and Middleton enrolled Prince George in his current school, there were talks that they wanted him to attend a co-ed school. The palace confirmed the little prince's new school last year.

"Their Royal Highnesses are delighted to have found a school where they are confident George will have a happy and successful start to his education," the palace said in a statement.

Thomas's Battersea was also delighted to have the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's eldest son. "This is clearly a significant moment for their family and most certainly for Thomas's," the primary school said in a statement. "Like so many parents, the Duke and Duchess have put a great deal of thought into the choice of their eldest child's first 'big school.'"
