Kate Middleton’s Sister Pippa Wanted Adele To Perform At Her Wedding To James Matthews
Pippa Middleton had big plans for her wedding day. The Duchess of Cambridge’s little sister was said to be eyeing an A-lister to perform when she ties the knot to fiancé James Matthews.
Us Weekly claims in their Oct. 3 print issue that Pippa, 33, made it known she wants “Hello” singer Adele to sing at her wedding. But unfortunately for Pippa, the award-winning British singer’s price tag may be a bit too high for her budget, despite being related to British royalty.
“Pippa realized how expensive she’d be!” an unnamed friend told the magazine, noting hiring someone of Adele’s caliber can cost up up to seven figures. With the socialite and author’s plans for a private Adele performance changing, the insider said Pippa is now looking at alternatives and is “hands-on” in every aspect of the wedding planning.
Recently, Pippa spent the day at London’s Lavender Green Flowers, admiring bouquets adorned with ivory and lace. Duchess Kate’s sibling is said to be going for a “elegant” theme and doesn’t want elements of her big day too appear “gaudy.”
Pippa’s wedding to Matthews, who works as a hedge-fund manager, is speculated to be taking place next summer. The couple confirmed their nuptials will occur in 2017 when they announced their engagement in July.
Matthews proposed in the lake District of northwest England. While People reports Pippa’s family and friends were surprised by the proposal, Pippa’s father, Michael Middleton, and her sister Kate, showed their support publicly.
“They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together,” Michael said in a statement at the time. Kate and her husband, Prince William, echoed the sentiment, a palace spokesperson saying the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were “absolutely delighted with the news.”
Pippa and Matthews have a long history. They first dated in 2012. Pippa was spotted with Matthews again in January during her family’s annual Caribbean vacation.
