Katherine Webb, Miss Alabama USA 2012, Dedicates Dive To Brent Musburger On 'Splash' Premiere
Katherine Webb, who won Miss Alabama USA 2012, made her reality television premiere on "Splash" Tuesday night.
The ABC show features five celebrities who show off their diving skills, and Webb, 23, was able to earn a high enough score to keep her on the show for at least another week.
"Cosby" star Keisha Knight-Pullam, on the other hand, was eliminated as the two determining judges and studio audience gave her the lowest tally.
Webb is the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron and quickly rose to fame in January while the Alabama Crimson Tide took home the AFCA National Championship Trophy in the Bowl Championship Series win over Notre Dame.
Webb attended the game and cameras panned to the Miss Alabama 2012 winner. Focus from the game’s commentators quickly shifted to Webb’s beauty.
"You quarterbacks, you get all the good-looking women," ESPN commentator Brent Musburger said. "What a beautiful woman."
"Wow!"former Ohio State QB Kirk Herbstreit commented.
"Whoa," Musburger replied.
After the comments from the sportscasters, the media could not get enough of the beautiful model, and she told Yahoo Sports that she gained scores of Twitter followers and that her phone wouldn't stop vibrating with incoming texts and emails.
"My phone is dead," she told Yahoo Sports soon after the BCS game. "My followers went from 2,300 this morning to 96,000 by the end of the night. I don't know if I should even check now, I don't know what is going on."
Webb was sure to thank Musburger for helping her attain national attention.
"Thanks, Brent Musburger. This dive is for you," Webb said on the “Splash” premiere as she donned a purple one-piece swimsuit.
