Katie Holmes Says Her 'Underdeveloped' Music Taste Now Includes Lizzo
Katie Holmes’ “underdeveloped” music taste has recently caught up to one of today’s biggest stars.
During an interview for Flaunt’s March 2020 issue, the actress revealed her love for singer and flutist Lizzo. The “Coda” actress said the realization came pretty recently after iHeartRadio’s holiday concert.
“Well, I saw her in Hustlers, and I didn’t realize,” Holmes explained. “I knew the song 'Juice,' but I wasn’t putting it all together, and then I saw her on Friday at the Jingle Ball and I was like, ‘Oh my god!’ She’s an incredible performer.”
Lizzo has made it to the 41-year-old’s playlist alongside a few other music icons.
“She’s one of them,” Holmes replied in regards to the “Truth Hurts” singer being one of her favorites. “I also love Beyonce, period.”
However, the former wife of Tom Cruise said she’s still developing her taste in music.
“I like music, but I’m not very well versed in it, so I feel a little bit shy about my music taste because I feel it’s very underdeveloped and I need to work on that,” she said. “You know, whatever’s popular I just take it. I love listening to Jazz music. I love Whitney Houston, too.”
Holmes, who is also a budding director, has two films, “The Secret: Dare to Dream” and “Brahms: The Boy II,” coming out this year.
“The Secret: Dare to Dream” is based on Rhonda Byrne's self-help book “The Secret,” which focuses on positive thinking.
As International Business Times reported, the “Dawson’s Creek” actress says the secret to her positive attitude is laughter and awareness.
“I laugh a lot with my girlfriends,” Holmes revealed to Flaunt for the home edition issue. “I try to have an awareness when things aren’t going well, to see the humor in it. This is because I tend to set my expectations high and then it’s never really what I thought, and that’s funny. Don’t we all do that?”
