Katie Holmes, 40, and Tom Cruise, 57, welcomed their baby girl on Apr. 18, 2006, at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif. and named her Suri, which means “princess” in Hebrew and “red rose” in Persian. Seven months after welcoming their bundle of joy, the pair tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Odescalchi Castle in Italy. Though everything was smooth sailing in the early years of their marriage, Katie shocked fans with a divorce announcement in June 2012.

In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Katie expressed her worries about the countless possible bad influences on her daughter in the modern world. “Doesn’t every parent?” Jamie Foxx’s ex-girlfriend said. “But, yes, of course I’m worried. There is so much bad news and hate and things that don’t make sense… The atmosphere around the world is… terrifying,” she went on.

Katie Holmes also revealed she did not regret being a mother at a young age. “I was happy to become a mum in my twenties,” Suri’s mom told the publication. “It’s been nice that our ages fit… how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together,” the “Batman Begins” actress added.

In October, Katie shared a piece of artwork, which appears to have been made by Suri, on Instagram. Though the “First Daughter” actress did not confirm if it was her daughter who made the portrait, fans praised Katie for using her social media to highlight such artistic talent. Jamie Foxx’s former ladylove also used her page to showcase a painting of herself and Suri made by her sibling, Nancy Blaylock, in September.

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise have, also, been spotted together several times, proving that they share a close bond despite the actress’ hectic schedule. In fact, The Daily Mail reported they were sighted in the Big Apple while carrying “The Handmaid’s Tale” novel by Margaret Atwood in October.

At the time, Katie sported a pair of jeans with a white T-shirt topped with a black coat and a pair of white and orange sneakers from Veja x Madewell collaboration. Suri, for her part, donned a pink sweater, a pair of black leggings and Adidas shoes.
