Katy Perry Attends Her First Burning Man Event, Was a Good Sport Over Segway Failed Ride
Katy Perry may have conquered a lot of things in her life, but her recent Burning Man outing showed that she still has a few more things to master such as a Segway. The “Firework” singer tried to ride a Segway during the Nevada festival, but unfortunately, she failed to control the two-wheel contraption.
The 30-year-old singer attended her first Burning Man event held in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert wherein Perry attempted to ride a Segway to view the festival’s large community, Entertainment Weekly reported. However, the singer and songwriter was unable to keep her balance on the Segway and ended up chasing after it on the sandy dunes of the annual arts and music festival.
Perry even shared a quick clip of her disastrous Segway ride on Instagram last Saturday, Sept. 5. In the video, the “Roar” songstress wears a cream fur coat over a black dress, along with goggles and a black handkerchief over her nose and mouth. At the start of the clip, the singer was able to handle the Segway for one spin before she lost her balance and lost control of the ride.
Perry captioned the video, "Obvious first time burner alert." Despite her embarrassing attempt to ride the Segway, Perry managed to laugh about the incident, as shown in the latter part of the clip.
Meanwhile, aside from the Burning Man event, Perry also toured the Whitney Museum of American Art and even saw two Broadway shows during a recent trip to New York City, People reported. The singer also took to Instagram last week to share a few snaps of her museum tour. One of the images she posted was a painted fiberglass boy by Charles Ray, which according to her wrote was her “favorite piece.”
Perry also saw the plays “Finding Neverland” at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater and “Hamilton” at the Richard Rogers Theater.
