Katy Perry Engaged? Valentine's Day ‘Engagement Ring’ Photo Sparks Rumors John Mayer Proposed
Singers Katy Perry and John Mayer have long been the subject of engagement rumors, and Perry’s recent decision to flaunt a ring on her engagement finger is only adding fuel to the fire.
Perry, 29, and her 36-year-old boyfriend of two years appeared to be getting ready for the plunge after photographers captured the duo leaving a Valentine’s Day meal at Sunset Towers in Los Angeles on Friday with the "Roar" singer displaying a ring on a very important finger. Despite buzz that the “Your Body Is a Wonderland” performer may have proposed, E! News reported Saturday that the pair is not engaged.
"They are really happy,” said an source, who confirmed the couple finished their Feb. 14 celebration at a West Hollywood club. “They had the most amazing date night. They had a private booth at Bootsy Bellows and were very happy just to be together... [They] are head over heels.” According to the insider, the duo spent the remainder of their romantic night out taking pictures and dancing with friends.
While Perry has yet to address the engagement rumors, Mayer has since opened up about his leading lady on social media. “I got the hottest girl in the game. Pick in’ my brain,” Mayer posted on his official Twitter page Saturday.
The couple was last rumored to be engaged in November after Perry sported a diamond ring on her engagement finger on the red carpet of the MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam. Despite happily flaunting the ring, the singer’s representative told Us Weekly that the bauble was merely a fashion accessory. “It was just a ring that went with the outfit,” said the rep, adding, “She’s not engaged.”
Perry last spoke out about her on-again, off-again, relationship with Mayer in the February issue of GQ magazine, saying she felt no need to rush into holy matrimony with the longtime performer. “I’m just having a wonderful experience with a wonderful guy,” said Perry. “There’s no rush.”
