Katy Perry has opened up about how much life has changed for her since welcoming daughter Daisy Dove last year.
The "Never Really Over" singer graced the cover of L'Officiel's latest issue and spoke to the fashion magazine about her monumental year, which included welcoming her daughter with fiancé Orlando Bloom in August. According to the 36-year-old, Daisy has brought her "wholeness."
"I always felt like I was walking around with a little bit of pain in my heart concerning love," Perry was quoted by Entertainment Tonight as saying. "And my fiancé has done a great job at really helping to mend that. But this just went underneath all that and got so deep. It's just there, that love is there."
"I'd heard about unconditional love, but now I'm really experiencing it. There's a wholeness that has happened," she added.
Perry further shared that motherhood has helped her become more confident in herself.
"I used to be really upset about going out into the world with no makeup on," the singer told the magazine. "Even for something like this, I'd be like, 'Let's do some hair and makeup,' and now I'm like, 'You know, I'm good. I know who I am. And what you think of me is none of my business.'"
Perry also gushed over Bloom, 44, for being a great dad to Daisy and to his son, Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr. According to the "Roar" hitmaker, her husband-to-be has been so kind, caring and empathetic.
"I was like, 'Here's the father of my future children.' I could see his kindness, empathy, care, and tenderness," she shared. "I courted that. I was like, 'Okay, this is different.' And this is his first girl, so it's a totally different feeling for him. I'm really, really grateful to have him. And he really shows up in a huge emotional way, which is unique for me."
Perry has built a great friendship with Bloom's ex-wife. In fact, the "Dark Horse" songstress and former Victoria's Secret Angel appeared together on Instagram Live last month for the latter's Kora Organics skincare. They talked about motherhood and their setup as a modern family.
"In our modern family, she's probably the most health conscious of everyone," Perry said of Kerr. "One of the great things about being close to Miranda is I get to try out all her products, especially when her son [Flynn] comes home with them in his backpack."
The Australian model has also been supportive of Bloom and Perry's relationship.
"I adore Katy and I just feel so happy that Orlando has found someone that makes his heart so happy," Kerr said on "The Drew Barrymore Show" in November 2020. "Because at the end of the day, for Flynn to have a happy father and a happy mother is just the most important thing."
