Kelli Amirah Story Update: Uber Driver Author Talks About What’s Next

Kelli Ffrench-Parker, better known by her Twitter handle Kelli Amirah, became a viral sensation after she penned a series of 140-character tweets last week about hitting on an attractive Uber driver. She gained thousands of Twitter followers and wants the chance to appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Ffrench-Parker, 19, is a student at Howard University who writes “on occasion.” “My parents are journalists so I think their writing prowess was passed down to me,” she told International Business Times in an email Monday.
Even though she might seem like a professional, her story about the Uber driver is the first one she wrote. “I may shoot off a tweet or two like any person, but this is my first time writing and entire twitter story thread,” she said.

The sudden social media fame shocked her. “It's been crazy. I've had a tweet or two go viral in the past before, but never something quite like this,” the Washington, D.C.-based student said. “My followers have basically doubled an drew my direct messages and notifications are off the wall. I honestly don't know how actual celebrities manage it.”
Now that she has a little notoriety, Ffrench-Parker considered making a YouTube channel. But what she wanted most was a to appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The comedian has hosted viral internet celebrities in the past.
Ffrench-Parker might continue to write. Her next endeavor, though, might be longer than 140-characters. “Who knows, maybe there's a book deal in my future,” she mused.
For anyone who possibly doubt’s the authenticity of Ffrench-Parker’s story, she verified that it’s real. “…I honestly couldn't make it up if I tried,” she said. “The reason why my friends find my stories entertaining is because they're 100-percent true, which makes it even funnier. It’s my real life and they know it.”
