Kelly Clarkson Dishes On ‘Scary’ Robbery Incident: ‘We Caught It On Tape’
Kelly Clarkson is finally detailing the recent robbery that took place in her home last week.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the “American Idol” Season 1 winner revealed that they caught the whole incident on tape. “Luckily, we weren’t there – and somebody was supposed to be there at that time that we were robbed,” she said.
But even though Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, could potentially identify the robber, the occurrence still sucked for the entire family. “We caught it on camera, but it was just one of those things that sucked, you know? Somebody was in your kid’s room and ransacked our whole room and closet and everything, and that’s never a good feeling,” she said.
Clarkson also revealed that that was the third time she got robbed, but it’s different because she now has children. “It’s a different level of, ‘Ugh.’ We’re blessed we weren’t home. It definitely sucks and it’s good that our two older kids weren’t with us and our two younger kids don’t really get it,” she said.
The “Love So Soft” singer told Extra TV that her Los Angeles home got robbed while at the Billboard Women In Music Awards last week. Host Renee Bargh commented on how good Clarkson looked and how happy she seemed.
“Other than we got robbed last night… Yeah, it was crazy, we got here and our whole house was like bashed in, it was crazy,” she replied.
She also said that there were some things stolen from their home, but those were material things they didn’t care about. What she and Blackstock were most concerned about was the fact that the robber was inside their kid’s room. “Other than that everyone is safe and good,” she said.
Meanwhile, Clarkson and her family are already gearing up for the upcoming holidays. They have some wonderful traditions that include playing games at home. They also drink hot cocoa, watch movies and eat pizza.
“No matter what industry or walk of life you’re from, it’s the time of that slows down for us to actually hone in on what’s important and the fact that we’re all happy and healthy and here for a little longer,” she shared.
