Kelly Ripa’s Daughter Lola ‘Gets Mad’ At Dad Mark Consuelos’ ‘Riverdale’ Character
Kelly Ripa recently opened up about her daughter, Lola Consuelos, during her guest appearance on the “Tonight Show.”
The talk show host revealed that the 16-year-old is a huge fan of The CW’s “Riverdale,” but she doesn’t necessarily approve of her dad Mark Consuelos’ character, Hiram Lodge.
“You know, so Veronica – she’s also 16 – and she drinks mimosas at breakfast. My daughter’s like, ‘Dad never lets me drink mimosas at breakfast!’ And I go, ‘Yeah, because he’s a real father and that’s a character on TV!’” she said (via People).
But even though Lola cannot imitate the kind of life Veronica (Camila Mendes) is living, she is extremely proud of her dad for landing a role in a TV show that she actually watches. “I wish you could watch ‘Riverdale’ with my 16-year-old daughter, who is finally like, ‘I can’t believe dad is on a show that I actually watch,’” she said.
The “Live With Kelly and Ryan” host also shared a hilarious story about the teen getting “mad” at her for posting a throwback photo of Lola wearing a Halloween costume as a kid.
“It’s so bizarre. I’m never allowed to post a photo of her, ever. Why did I have these kids if not to exploit them on social media?” she joked. On her way to “Tonight Show,” she got a call from Lola asking her to take down the photo because her friends will see it.
“I was like, you know what, I will take it down. I’ll take it down for you. And that was the end of the conversation,” she said. But even though she took down the photo on social media, Ripa made sure to show it off during her guesting on Jimmy Fallon’s show.
Consuelos and Ripa tied the knot on May 1, 1996 and have been married for 21 years. Earlier this year, they celebrated their anniversary and shared adorable cuddly photos of each other. The couple has been blessed with three children together, Michael, 20, Lola, 16 and Joaquin, 14.
In 2013, Ripa spoke with People and gushed over Consuelos. “I love everything about him, even his annoying habits,” she said.
