Kelly Slater’s Sustainable Fashion Line Outknown Unveils First Limited Supply Collection
Kelly Slater, 11-time world surf champion, unveiled his first Limited Supply collection Tuesday as part of his men’s clothing line Outknown brand. The sustainable clothing line has been created in conjunction with designer John Moore. The capsule collection includes tailored sweatpants, three Japanese organic-cotton button-ups and shorts, and a French-terry hoodie.
The capsule collection has been made is Los Angeles. The surfer also partnered with Moore for debut clothing line, WWD reported. The well-known menswear designer, who is the creative director of Outknown, also collaborated with Slater on his previous line VSTR. Slater’s brand ambassadors for Outerknown include men, who are lesser known in the fashion industry like Mark Cunningham, a retired lifeguard from Hawaii’s North Shore.
However on Saturday, he celebrated the launch of his men’s clothing line Outerknown in Malibu, California with some of the big names of American celebrity circle. Julia Roberts and her adorable family joined him in architect Harry Gesner’s treehouse-style abode on the Pacific Coast Highway.
The “Pretty Woman” star, her husband Danny Moder and the couple’s three children posed for photographs in a rare public appearance at the bash. Roberts was joined by Cindy Crawford and her famous family, and also Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky were present.
Meanwhile, Slater, 43, who wants to make a name for himself in “sustainable lifestyle,” outside of surfing arena, said: “I’m trying to be as responsible as I can be with what I do and what I put my name to. If a brand approaches me and I don’t believe in their kind of ethos, I don’t work with them.” He added that money was not an issue.
