Kevin is faced with a difficult decision in the next installment of “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 8 of the ABC series, Kevin (Jason Ritter) is forced to choose between attending the opening night of Reese’s (Chloe East) stage play and completing his mission of helping a talented artist (Enoch King) find the courage to believe in himself.

As if this dilemma isn’t already too much to handle, Kevin also finds himself in disagreement with his guardian Yvette (Kimberly Hébert Gregory). While the cause of their dispute remains to be seen, the trailer for the episode shows Kevin ignoring Yvette on purpose and even mocking her in front of her fellow “angel” Dave (Will Sasso).

Speaking of Dave, Yvette discovers that he’s actually working against Team Kevin. While viewers have to wait to find out what that actually means, the synopsis reveals that Yvette and Dave’s fellow “angel” Ava (Lauren Blumenfeld) is making a comeback in the episode.

At the end of the promo clip, Yvette declares that she’s leaving. While it’s unclear whether Yvette’s departure is a permanent or a temporary one, it’s possible that Ava returns to replace Yvette as Jason’s guardian. Yvette’s departure, however, comes at a bad time as Kevin reveals in the trailer that he already knows where they will find the first righteous.

Also in the episode, Amy (JoAnna Garcia) prepares to go out on her first date since her husband died. As revealed at the end of Season 1, episode 7, Amy’s date is none other than her fellow professor Ignacio “Iggy” DePerro (Brandon Quinn).

Although Ignacio seems like a good guy, Quinn’s guest-starring status on the series suggests that his character was only introduced as a roadblock in the inevitable romantic relationship between Amy and Nate (J. August Richards), who seemingly stepped back in pursuing Amy after Reese told him not to date her mom.

“Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” Season 1, episode 8, titled “Chrysalis,” airs on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. Watch the trailer for the episode below:
