Kim And Kanye's New House Photos Prove It Might Be Livable After All
Much has been said about Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West’s minimally designed home. While homes in this style are usually created with minimal decorations, colors or distractions, their home seems to take this theme to the utmost extreme.
Fans of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” are constantly craning their necks with each new episode on E!, hoping to catch a glimpse of furniture or an unseen room in Kim’s home — anything that would certify the Kardashian-West family does indeed live there.
When Kim posted the below photo to Instagram in October 2019, most people ignored Skims, the shapewear brand she was trying to promote, and instead focused on the toothbrush that was seen in the image. The photo went viral, according to Allure. Although many people still had technical questions about the functionality of her sink, it was one of the first times some sense of normalcy had been shown in her home.
Now, Kim is giving her fans an inside view into her Los Angeles mansion that People reported is worth $60 million. The famous couple first discovered their future home while strolling through the neighborhood in 2013, right after their first child, North, was born.
“I didn’t really know Kanye’s style at that point, but I thought the house was perfection. Kanye was less enthusiastic. He said, ‘It’s workable,’” Kim said in an interview with Architectural Digest.
Since then, the mansion has undergone a seven-year renovation process with Belgian architect Axel Vervoordt who worked with Kim and Kanye on the design.
The new photos of the mansion released by BuzzFeed News prove Kim and Kanye seem to be fans of neutral colors, complete with comfy nooks for reading and eating.
One room in the home is entirely devoted to what looks like a giant, stuffed animal designed by the artist Isabel Rower. The photo shows the entire family lounging around on the octopus-like creature.
Regardless of what critics say about the “creepy” hallways or empty rooms, Kim said she is a huge fan of the design.
“Everything in the outside world is so chaotic. I like to come into a place and immediately feel the calmness,” Kim said.
