Kim Kardashian Defends North West’s Corset Dress On Twitter

After shutting down rumors that she was caught using drugs, Kim Kardashian was forced to defend her latest fashion choice for daughter North West. On Wednesday, the reality star responded to backlash after her 4-year-old was photographed wearing a corset dress.

The reality star posted a video on Twitter explaining the origins of the outfit for those who believed she dressed her daughter in constricting corset. “I would never put my daughter in a corset! It’s a dress I bought that is a cotton fabric that laces up & looks like a corset! Just decoration,” Kardashian tweeted.

In the video, Kardashian explained that the corset was simply a design and not the actual accessory known for causing damage to vital organs.

“This dress that I did not design, I actually bought, is not a corset it’s just fabric on the front. So, I think it’s really cute, I bought it from a designer and it’s just fabric people, it’s not a real corset,” she said in the video.

In another tweet, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star posted a photo that featured a full look at the entire dress. Across the photo, she wrote, “Just decoration not a real corset.”

Although Kardashian is now receiving criticism for dressing her daughter in a corset, this is not the first time that North has worn the outfit. In March, the youngster accessorized the outfit with a pair of cat ears when she attended the Ariana Grande concert and met the singer backstage.

Corsets which were first introduced in the 1500s, became an everyday accessory to the women of that time. Although they are used as waist trainers and occasional fashion statements nowadays, doctors still condemn the use of the item.

Health and wellness expert Dr. Tasneem Bhatia told USA Today that use of the corset could have negative effects including long-term or permanent damage to your organs. “It just crams all of your organs together. So over a long period of time, wearing it too much and too frequently, it can cause damage too,” the doctor explained.

Although Kardashian has shut down those recently criticizing her as a mother, earlier this week the star addressed rumors that she was using cocaine. After sharing a video on Snapchat Monday, a fan noticed that there were two white lines on the table behind the reality star.

“Ohhhhhh @KimKardashian caught out with cocaine .. durtayyyyy,” a Twitter user wrote. After coming across the tweet Kardashian, quickly shut down the allegations.

“I do not play with rumors like this so I’m gonna shut it down real quick. That’s sugar from our candy mess from dylan’s candy shop,” she tweeted. However, later on that evening, Kardashian realized that the white marks were still there and discovered that it wasn’t candy on the table.

“OMG you guys!!! Check my snap chats or insta stories I’m crying!!! That was not candy on my table! The table was marble this whole time!” she wrote. Kardashian posted a video of the table revealing that it was neither drugs nor candy in her background but instead the design of the furniture.

Although Kardashian has been silent about addressing drama surrounding her famous family, it looks like she is more than willing to get vocal when her role as a mom is called into question.
