Kim Kardashian Divorce: To Be Aired On TV?
Kim Kardashian, reality TV star vixen, may finally be ready to turn the cameras off when it comes to her impending divorce to New Jersey Nets basketball player, Kris Humphries. Unfortunately for her (and fortunate for viewers), Humphries is completely ready to air the couple's dirty laundry on TV.
Kardashian, 31, and Humphries, 27, had a fairytale wedding on Aug. 20, 2011, with a whopping price tag of $10 million. Just 72-days later Kardashian filed for divorce. The couple's 72-days of marriage bliss was captured on Kardashian's E! reality show, Kourtney and Kim Take New York. While viewers were able to see the pair's marriage fall apart, Kim Kardashian doesn't want the cameras to be present during the divorce trial. A source told RadarOnline that the reality star instructed her lawyer to petition for mediation. Mediation is confidential and legally binding, which would keep Kardashian's business out of the media. According to the same source, She and Kris have no assets together and kept separate bank accounts, so this is a fairly routine divorce proceeding. Kim just wants this over and done with.
Kris Humphries seems to have different plans. The Huffington Post reported that the basketball player has filed for annulment on the basis of fraud. In order for the annulment to be granted on the grounds of fraud, Humphries has to prove that from the time leading up to their marriage, all the way to their break up, there was a form of significant deception.
The fraud Humphries is trying to prove, are the reported alterations to an episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York. In the episode, Kim Kardashian breaks down in a phone conversation with her mother about her failing marriage. Kardashian was reportedly in Dubai on a business trip at that time. Two months later, pictures caught the reality starlet walking out of a sound stage in Hollywood in the exact same outfit, hair style, and earrings that she wore in the scene while talking to her mother. RadarOnline reported that an assistant was seen carrying the same purple dress that Kardashian wore in the limo of that episode. The theory is that Kardashian was reshooting the scene.
To me it was real, said Kris Humphries to Access Hollywood about his marriage. I would never go through something or do something that wasn't real or I didn't believe in, so I can really only speak for myself in terms of that.
Kim Kardashian expressed the same feelings as Humphries last month on LIVE! With Kelly. Being a hopeless romantic, I wanted to believe in something so badly, said Kardashian. If you really think about it, if this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone was claiming that we made off this wedding, and if the wedding was fake and just for TV--I'm a smart business woman--I would have stayed married longer.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Humphries believes that by airing the divorce proceedings on TV, viewers will be able to see that Kim Kardashian put ratings for her show ahead of her marriage.
