Kim Kardashian Gets Seal Of Approval From British Actress Helen Mirren For Redefining Beauty
In a candid interview with the Telegraph, British actress Helen Mirren talked about her personal and career life, as well as her thoughts on beauty. Mirren earned the sex symbol title during her early years in the entertainment industry. The now nearly 70-year-old actress mentioned that she was glad of “finally being relieved of the whole sex-symbol tag.”
The “Trumbo” star said she was happy to see many women “who have claimed their own bodies” and are proud of it. Mirren recounted how women were expected to conform to social rules when she was growing up.
She also commented on how she loves "shameless" women. Mirren even mentioned Kim Kardashian for helping to redefine the standard of beauty. “It’s wonderful that you’re allowed to have a butt nowadays! Thanks to Madame Kardashian, and before her, J-Lo. We’re also allowed to have thighs now, which is great too. It’s very positive,” she said.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star has been known to display her body in figure-hugging dresses or revealing fashion ensembles. The reality TV star also shared a nude selfie picture on Instagram in March that became controversial. In an interview with Recode Decode’s Kara Swisher, Kardashian stated that she was “baffled” that so many people reacted to her nude selfie post.
“They have seen me naked 500 times!" Kardashian said. She also defended her social media posts and explained that she never meant for it to cause a controversy. "My personality has never been, 'I'm such a feminist and follow me and be naked!' If you are conservative and that's how you are comfortable, more power to you. I respect you. You don't have to look at what I do,” the reality star had said.
Kardashian also admitted that she previously shared a lot about herself on social media prior to having a family. However, she has decided to limit this after marriage and children. “I would say I keep a good 30 percent to myself,” she said.
