Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Prenup Revealed: What Will Happen In The Event Of A Divorce?
Days after their May wedding was confirmed, details emerged about Kim Kardashian’s prenuptial agreement with fiancé Kanye West.
According to Us Weekly, West and Kardashian will wed on May 24. The wedding will take place in Paris, less than two weeks before West’s 37th birthday.
Kardashian will get $1 million for every year she is married to West if they divorce, but that total is capped at $10 million, according to Radar Online. The Bel Air mansion they are currently renovating will be in Kardashian's name, and in the event of a divorce, every gift West gives her, she will keep, and all income she earns from her various endorsements and reality show will be considered her separate income. When it comes to their daughter, North, there are no clauses in their prenup concerning custody arrangements.
Considering how they seem to have a loving relationship, it comes as little surprise that their prenuptial agreement was sorted out quickly.
“The entire process for the prenup for Kim and Kanye has been extremely easy and relatively drama free," a source told Radar Online. "Kanye didn’t even think the couple needed a prenup, and he was ready to give Kim carte blanche to all of his financial assets. Yes, he loves Kim that much.”
In October, in front of Kardashian's family and friends, West had a 50-piece orchestra play Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” before playing his own hit song “Knock Me Down.” The couple has been dating since last year, though they have known each other for about a decade. Kardashian was more than happy to say “yes,” later telling E! News, “Last night was truly magical!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world! I get to marry my best friend!"
