Kim Kardashian Wants To Be A 'Strict' Parent To Her Four Children
Kim Kardashian has described her parenting style as “very calm” but said that she needs to be strict as a parent to four kids.
In a recent interview with Parents Magazine, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star opened up about her strengths and weaknesses as a mom to North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.
"When my kids want something, typically candy, they give me this look directly in my eyes that cuts right through me." she said. "I usually give in and give them what they want."
Despite this, Kardashian is patting herself on the back for a "naturally calm demeanor" that allows her to avoid becoming impatient in dealing with four children.
"I'm naturally very calm, which I think translates into my parenting. I don't get super stressed or impatient, which I think is definitely a superpower when you have three kids age five and under running around,” she said in the interview.
She also said that getting her kids ready for school is what she considers “the worst time of the day.”
“North loves to pick out her own outfits, so sometimes getting dressed takes longer than planned," she said.
While it may seem chaotic to have four children running around the house, the “PAW Patrol: The Movie” actress said it reminds her of the fun she had growing up with her siblings. "They get along so well and have so much love for each other. It reminds me of growing up with Kourtney, Khloé and Rob. There's something so special about having a big family, and I'm happy my babies get that experience the way I did," she said, adding that the flip side is definitely controlling the chaos. "Keeping their rooms neat and organized, especially their closets [is the hardest part]."
Kardashian considers North’s Coachella-themed first birthday party as the "best kids birthday party" she ever planned. In the interview with Parents Magazine, she recounted her fulfillment in seeing the kids happy with the party which she dubbed as “Kidchella.”
Despite their split, Kardashian and Kanye West have been doing well in their roles as parents, a source from ET shared last month.
"Kanye and her have been co-parenting successfully and both of them want what's best for the kids," the source said, adding that the two "have been supportive of each other.”
"Kim is continuing to stay focused on her kids and her brand," the source said. "Kim has always been a really hands-on mom. She does a great job at balancing and spending time with them, even with work being so busy for her. Family time is and always will be a huge priority to her."
Kardashian filed for divorce in February after six years of marriage.
