Kim Richards Missing? Former 'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' Star Allegedly Flees Rehab
Kim Richards, former star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," has reportedly disappeared after leaving rehab on Monday against the recommendation of medical professionals. If the rumors are true, this is the third time the Bravo reality star has entered and subsequently left a treatment center since April 26.
Given her numerous brief attempts to get help and run-ins with the law, Richards' family was said to be considering placing her under 5150 psychiatric hold earlier this month, leaving doctors and medical lawyers in charge of her care. While it is unclear if the family did place Richards, 51, on a psychiatric hold, it appears the former child star is still having issues.
According to Wet Paint, Richards checked out of the unnamed facility on Monday afternoon. Sources said she was advised against leaving, but "bolted" anyway. According to the publication (via Radar Online) no one knows where she went or where she could currently be staying. Although she is rumored to be keeping a low profile, Richards did post a photo to Instagram on Monday. The former "RHOBH" star shared a throwback photo of her daughter Kimberly Jackson in celebration of her 20th birthday. In the caption she called Jackson "amazing, special, such a Gift" adding that she was fortunate to have her in her life.
This is Richards' third stint in treatment since days after appearing on "Dr. Phil" in April to discuss her public intoxication arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel. She then entered another facility in June only to leave a month later. Following her second exit from rehab Richards sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss her sobriety. She told the publication she only got help because she needed "a break" from her chaotic life, adding that she "loved sobriety." Unfortunately, she was arrested a little over two weeks later on Aug. 3 for attempted to steal $600 worth of merchandise from a San Fernando Valley, California, Target.
Details about the reported shoplifting incident later after emerged suggesting the "RHOBH" alumnae had been living in her car prior to her arrest. She was said to be "self-medicating," though it was not clear what substances she was allegedly using. TMZ obtained photos from the arrest which showed Richards had exited the store with two carts full of stickers, make-up cases, snacks and other items. The site reported that she got around three feet outside the store before she was stopped by security and taken to a booking room to be photographed and questioned. Richards claimed she could not recall whether or not she had paid for the items. She was taken to a local police station where she was held over night.
