King George VI's speech on eve of World War II [AUDIO]
This is a recording of the actual speech delivered by Britain's King George VI on the radio announcing the beginning of World War II.
The famous speech was addressed to the United Kingdom on Sept. 3, 1939 and forms the foundation of the widely acclaimed film The King's Speech starring Colin Firth.
The original recording was aired live as Britain prepared for war against Germany.
One can hear the king trying to speak as slowly and carefully as possible and sometimes cannot help struggling with some words.
