Dhanush, the tamil actor, who sang the extremely popular Kolaveri Di, has sung a new song as a tribute to the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Called the Sachin Anthem, it is an initiative by the makers of the health drink Boost, for which Tendulkar is the brand ambassador. It's a great honour to sing for a legend like Sachin Tendulkar. I am happy that I have been chosen to do this. He is the pride of our nation. When I was offered to do the song I didn't think twice and just knew that I had to do it. I have really worked hard on the song and I hope people enjoy it, said Dhanush, superstar Rajnikanth's son-in-law. He added that he was not nervous about the Sachin anthem and hoped it could match in popularity with Kolaveri Di.

The video for the song, which was shot at various locations in Hyderabad, has been conceptualized by the same team that came up with the superhit Kolaveri Di. The lyrics that go “Darling of the mass” have been penned by Dhanush and the song features Dhanush, Anirudh and Anushka Shetty in the video.
