Krispy Kreme Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Doughnuts Are Here: 7 Limited-Edition Doughnuts To Try Now
Just when you thought a Krispy Kreme doughnut couldn’t get more decadent …
The doughnut chain announced that it will be releasing a new doughnut flavor in Australia. Patch reported Sunday that the decadent treats have a gooey, “Reese’s peanut butter sauce” instead of a jelly or cream and the outside of the doughnuts are covered in chocolate icing and chocolate glaze and are topped off with vanilla biscuit crumbles and, of course, Reese’s Peanut Butter chips.
Krispy Kreme fans in the United States are not exactly thrilled that the new flavor will only be offered in Australia. Chip Chick reports that a petition is currently circulating and that if it gets enough signatures, the new flavor could very well appear in Krispy Kreme locations throughout the U.S.
You can sign the petition here.
Krispy Kreme has been known to push the culinary boundaries of its pastries and most recently debuted a Nutella-filled donut, aptly named the Nutty Chocolatta donut. The limited-edition doughnut is filled with the chocolate-hazelnut spread and topped off with chocolate bits and sprinkles. Thrillist reported that the Nutella version was only made available in the U.K. at a pop-up location; the proceeds were donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Following its pop-up debut, the pastry was available to buy in U.K. stores back in May and is only available until Sept. 4 of this year.
The new Reese’s flavor has not yet been given the “Limited Edition” stamp on its Australian site, so the new flavor might be here to stay.
That said, as the petition continues to circulate, here are seven limited-edition Krispy Kreme flavors that are currently available in the U.S. Try them out before they’re gone!
