Kristin Cavallari, Jay Cutler Pregnancy was ‘an Accident’

Kristin Cavallari and fiancé Jay Cutler announced on Monday that they are expecting their first child together.

We are thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together, the couple said in a statement. It's an amazing time in our life and we can't wait to meet the new addition to our growing family.

Many were surprised to hear that Kristin Cavallari, 25, is pregnant with the Chicago Bears quarterback, 28, first child. The couple was engaged and broke it off, only to get engaged again. Now, Cavallari is pregnant. In fact, the couple were surprised about the pregnancy themselves, according to sources.

TMZ reported that sources close to Cavallari and Jay Cutler said the couple had discussed the possibility of having kids together, but had no intention of having them any time soon.

Despite the surprise, the two are thrilled over the news and have [renewed] their commitment more than ever to making their relationship work.

We are so excited for this little bun in the oven :), Cavallari, tweeted on Monday. Cavallari also addressed rumors that she had been spotted drinking margaritas recently.

I tweeted that I had margaritas a few weeks ago to throw ppl off cuz I had gotten a couple tweets about my pregnancy. I didn't really drink! she wrote.

Cutler took to his Twitter account as well to discuss the news, and to shoot down news that he had broke up with the former reality star.

Thanks for all the tweets. We couldn't be more excited. We don't usually comment on our relationship but for the record I never broke up with Kristin. Its [sic] unfortunate some people are saying hurtful things during such a joyous moment in our life, read Cutler's post.

Cavallari and Cutler met in August 2010 through mutual friend Giuliana Rancic. After just eight short months of dating, Cutler proposed to the blonde beauty. They called off their engagement in July 2011 and got back together while Cavallari was performing on Dancing with the Stars.

Friends of the couple are excited for the mama-to-be.
