Kusama Reveals More Info About 'Shiba Eternity'; Reason Behind Game's Name, Other Key Details
"Shiba Eternity," the upcoming game from PlaySide Studios and the Shiba Inu development team, is set to roll out sometime this year and with the hype level within the community still sky high, lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has revealed more details about the project, including the reason behind its name and what can gamers expect from it.
Social media influencer and former Shiba Inu growth member GossipShib on Tuesday shared on Twitter an image of what looked like a Discord conversation between Kusama and some members of the community about "Shiba Eternity."
Kusama mentioned that "Shiba Eternity" is "a lot like Hearthstone," a free-to-play online digital collectible card game based on the lore of the hit series "Warcraft." But they said that Shiba Inu's upcoming card game features a lot of "distinct differences."
The lead developer also noted that they disregard the price and "keep pushing for the best outcome," presumably referring to the game's development. When a Shiba Army said that "Clash Royale" has a "huge following on TikTok," Kusama emphasized that "Shiba Eternity" is "super strategic" and added that "there are so many possibilities."
The pseudonymous lead developer also revealed the reason behind the upcoming game's official name. "It's based on a variety of factors including AppStore, what fits on the logo and icon well, availability, and a hundred other factors," they explained, adding that "I hope when you realize that the game is about our future eternity in peace, you will see it was a good choice."
Shiba Inu announced the Shiba Inu Game last year, with PlaySide Studios and William Volk at the helm of its development. Volk served as the game's consultant and once shared that he was at a game convention to promote the game and get more partnerships.
Kusama, on the other hand, has been teasing "Shiba Eternity" on Twitter long before it was announced on the token's second year birthday. The lead developer has been sharing images of several game cards. In one of his blog posts, they talked about the game's narrative, which they described as "nothing like this has ever been attempted."
Kusama said that the game's narrative "gives depth to the Shib CCG story, making it more than just memes, battle cards, and awesome art." They explained they have "created a story that spans not only this galaxy, but the next, while giving a continuing plot for the game and MV (without imposing any limits)."
Moreover, the lead developer noted that the "unique strategy" they have designed will provide Shiba Inu and its partners "a competitive advantage," believing that the games are just an example of "what can be done with the power of Shib, Shibarium, and the Shib Financial Ecosystem."
Unfortunately, "Shiba Eternity" has no definitive release date yet but is anticipated to release sometime in Q3 2022. SHIB, the native token of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, was trading down 6.35% at $0.00001195 with a 24-hour volume of $508,813,650 as of 3:06 a.m. ET Wednesday, according to the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
