Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Student Dies In Residence Hall

No foul play is suspected in the Thursday death of a 32-year-old graduate student at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, authorities said.
Hannah Marie Varn, from Iowa, was found dead in her dormitory by resident assistants. State police found “multiple” liquor bottles in the room, The Patriot-News reported.
“No foul play is suspected and no students are in danger,” police said Friday morning local time.
The university notified students to avoid the area after authorities found Varn unresponsive.

Authorities said Varn had not been in contact with family members for about a week and the university was asked to check on her well-being at around 9:30 p.m. ET.
An autopsy is pending. Matt Santos, a spokesman for the university, was quoted by the news agency as saying it was early in the investigation.
“As we await more information from the police on last night’s incident, our immediate thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of our deceased student,” he stated by email. “As we receive more information, we will share it with campus in a timely fashion.”
