Kylie Jenner Not Completely 'Cut Off' Financially

Reality star Kylie Jenner, 17, wasn’t completely cut off financially by her mom Kris Jenner. After telling Britain's In Style magazine that she pays for everything and was cut off three years ago, E! News clarified that the teenager has been getting her basic needs taken care of.

“My Mom [Kris Jenner] cut me off financially three years ago so I pay for everything,” said Kylie as she spoke to In Style. The controversial statement caused the public to believe that Kris had left her daughter to fend for herself since she was 14.

E! News clarified that while Kylie has been strictly responsible for all of her luxuries; her parents have still been taking care of her basic needs. Kylie still lives with her mom in their Calabasas, California, home. Her housing, meals, medical expenses and laundry are being taken care of by the family.

However, all "extras" are financed by Kylie’s own account. If she wants to go out and have dinner with her friends, then she would have to pay for it. Likewise, expensive handbags, designer clothes and jewelry are all chosen and purchased by Kylie. It was the same for her older siblings. They all had their parents' support for basic needs but were taught to work hard for extras.

Kim Kardashian West shared the same story in many interviews over the years. She explained how she saved up for her first designer items and made money by fixing up her friends’ closets and becoming their personal shopper and stylist.

Kylie has been working hard for her own money by starring in “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” since she was about 7 years old. She has since also released fashion collections with several brands like PacSun, Steve Madden and Topshop. Last year, she also launched her own hair extension line called Kylie Couture.

With Kylie turning 18 in August, she will be moving out of her mom’s home. She has purchased a $2.7 million mansion in the Calabasas area. By then, she will really become independent and will have responsibility for all her expenses.

Her sisters Kim and Khloe have been helping her prepare for the move. In a recent episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” her sisters gave Kylie a list of homeowner’s responsibilities that nearly convinced her not to buy the house. But with Kris Jenner’s support, she has gone ahead and is currently completing renovations.
