Lady Gaga opened about her painful journey to fame and her mental health on the new Apple TV+ docuseries ,"The Me You Can't See," which is hosted by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry.

The first episode of the show dropped Thursday featuring the 35-year-old singer, who was referred by her real name, Stefani. In her intro, she talks about how her time in the limelight and past traumatic experiences have shaped her into the woman she is today.

"I went through a really crazy time in my head that I still work on," Gaga said in the episode, adding: "And I'm trying to make sure that I give back with that experience instead of just, I don't know, locking it away and faking it."

While the music mogul shares that she began cutting herself when she was young, she finds it hard to explain her experiences with abuse that led to her doing so. "I do believe that those urges, for me, came from a place of 'I need to show the hurt inside,'" she said.

During the docuseries, Gaga also recalls how a music producer sexually assaulted her at the age of 19 and asked her to "take your clothes off."

"And I left and they told me they were going to burn all my music," she said. "And they didn’t stop, they didn’t stop asking me and I just froze and I just… I…I don’t even remember." The singer refuses to name the producer in the series.

Talking about the MeToo movement, Gaga said she understands that it introduced a wave of exposing predators in the media industry, but she "doesn't feel comfortable" doing the same and emphasizes that she never wants to face him again. "This system is so abusive and so dangerous," she tearfully adds.

The singer also recalls visiting a hospital for her chronic pain years after the assault took place. "I said why is there a psych here, I can’t feel my body... First I felt full-on pain, then I went numb, and then I was sick for weeks and weeks and weeks after."

"And I realized that it was the same pain that I felt when the person who raped me dropped me off pregnant on the corner at my parents’ house because I was vomiting and sick," she said. "Because I’d been being abused, I was locked away in a studio for months."

"I’ve had so many MRIs and scans, right, they can’t, they don’t find nothing. But your body remembers," she said, adding: "You can come back from things like that but when it hits you really hard it can change you."

Since the episode dropped, fans took Twitter to share their love and support for the singer. One of the users wrote: "Gaga, thank you for always sharing your pain with us. You are, and will always be an inspiration to your fans. We are stronger because of you."
