LaLa Anthony Slams Carmelo With Instagram Picture Of 2017 Met Gala Dress?
The first Monday of May was not a day for LaLa Anthony to sit home crying over her estranged husband, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. The beautiful TV host slayed in a sexy dress at the 2017 Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, which is informally known as the Met Gala.
The star posted a picture of her all-black ensemble to her personal Instagram account. LaLa, whose birth name is Alani Vazquez, did not immediately reveal the name of the designer. She did, however, hint that she was doing fine without Anthony, who reportedly cheated on her and got the other woman pregnant.

The 37-year-old captioned the photo of her outfit “Unbreakable.” Within minutes, the post garnered hundreds of thousands of likes from her 5.9 million Instagram followers.
The apparent diss at Anthony was felt by her followers. “I'm so happy to see doing well. What you experienced has been what a lot of women went through. I'm just saying you you slay.. stay strong you encourage me,” IG user tanisha_im_virtuous. Kadigoodlife added: “Carmelo must b having 2nd thoughts now.”
At the time this article was written, neither party had officially filed for divorce. Still, there was “virtually zero chance of a reconciliation,” TMZ wrote last week.
Anthony and LaLa split last month after nearly six years together. They have one son, 10-year-old Kiyan. Their relationship had been “rocky for a while,” but when LaLa discovered Antony’s alleged mistress was nearly 7 months pregnant with his child, she was ready to call it quits.
Even though it was rumored the alleged mistress was a stripper, that’s apparently incorrect: She worked at a gentlemen's club in New York City.
Until their marriage unraveled, LaLa and Anthony used to attend the gala together, going to the 2016 soirée. They also went to the 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 galas.
Each year, the Met Gala has a theme. This year’s was premise to honor the work of Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo. The 74-year-old fashion designer is the second living stylish to be celebrated by the Costume Institute.
“Rei Kawakubo is one of the most important and influential designers of the past 40 years,” Andrew Bolton, Costume Institute curator in charge, said in an October 2016 press release. “By inviting us to rethink fashion as a site of constant creation, recreation, and hybridity, she has defined the aesthetics of our time.”
