Lamar Odom-Khloé Kardashian Update: Odom Meeting James Harden? 'KUWTK' Star Says 'Divorce Still Going Forward'
Lamar Odom has demanded to meet Khloé Kardashian’s boyfriend James Harden, giving rise to speculation that he still may be clinging on to the hope of reconciliation with his estranged wife. The news comes amid reports that the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star contracted a staph infection at the hospital where Odom is being treated now.
“Lamar is fighting for his life and he’s also fighting for Khloé too,” a source told Hollywood Life Wednesday. “He loves her terribly and is scared that his health may ruin any chance of him being with her romantically again.”
“He loves her so much that he’s asked her to bring James [Harden] to see him,” the source went on. “He wants to look James in his eyes, man to man, and tell him that if he doesn’t fully recover or things take a turn for the worse, he wants James to promise him that he’ll take great care of his wife Khloé and treat her like the queen she is.”
However, Kardashian, who dismissed her divorce with Odom due to his medical condition, wrote on her Twitter account that their "divorce is still going forward.” Her tweet came as a response to a Twitter user's criticism for dating another man despite being marred to Odom.
The reality TV star has expressed her concern for her estranged husband’s health. Odom was hospitalized after being found unconscious at a brothel in Las Vegas on Oct. 13. He is said to have overdosed on cocaine and other drugs. The 36-year-old, who has previously battled addiction, is being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
After spending nearly a month at the hospital, a new report claimed that Kardashian contracted a infection that is really “bad.” She allegedly has a lesion on her leg which has become “incredibly painful,” and has “developed a high fever, swollen glands. She’s also sweating profusely with intermittent chills,” another source told TMZ. “It’s so scary. She’s so sick.”
The infection reportedly prompted Kardashian to cancel a number of her book tour appearances.
Meanwhile, a doctor from San Francisco’s California Pacific Medical Center told Hollywood Life that Kardashian should maintain distance from Odom.
“Going back to the hospital should not occur until the infection is brought under control, lest she spread it to hospitalized patients,” Dr. Barry M. Rose reportedly said. “Unless she needs to go to the hospital to get treated herself or get surgery herself.”
