What Happened To Khloé Kardashian? Lamar Odom’s Wife Reportedly Treated For Staph Infection After Hospital Visits
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Khloé Kardashian had to cancel a signing of her new book, “Strong Looks Better Naked” after she became sick. Though the E! reality star tweeted to her fans she would not be able to make the gig, she didn’t provide a reason why. Fortunately, Gossip Cop, the website that famously debunks celebrity rumors, has the skinny on what’s going on with Lamar Odom’s wife.
Kardashian, 31, contracted a staph infection while visiting Odom, 36, at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the publication wrote Wednesday. Though Kardashian said she was suffering from stress, it’s apparently more serious than that.
Staph infections are caused by staphylococcus bacteria, which are germs found on the skin, the Mayo Clinic reported. While its OK it the germs are on the surface of the skin, they can become deadly if they invade the joints, bloodstream, bones, heart or lungs. Treatment normally consists of antibiotics and drainage of the infected site, which typically is a boil or cellulitis.
In Kardashian’s case, she got a staph infection on her leg and has a fever and swollen glands. "It's so scary. She's so sick,” a source told TMZ Wednesday.
But the reality star is on the road to recovery. “She is getting treatment and will be OK,” an insider told Gossip Cop, adding she “just needs to rest and [to] get it treated.”
Kardashian called off her divorce to Odom last month after he was hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose at a brothel outside of Las Vegas Oct. 13. Though she’s still married, and visits the ex-NBA pro in the hospital regularly, she continues to date her boyfriend, Houston Rockets guard James Harden. Her personal life puts her in "a very unique situation," she explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday.
