Lamar Odom Update: Khloé Kardashian’s Husband In ‘Fragile Mental State' After 2 Emergency Surgeries, Source Says
Even though former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom is on the mend physically, his psychological condition is a different matter. Khloé Kardashian’s husband is in “fragile mental state" after undergoing two surgeries, TMZ wrote in an exclusive article Thursday.
Odom, 35, is “emotional at times” and “very upset,” TMZ wrote. The procedures he had involved chest issues, but it’s unknown if they involved his heart or his lungs. Kardashian, 31, is the only visitor allowed to see him while he fights for his physical and mental health.
The former basketball star was found unconscious at Love Ranch, a legal Nevada brothel, on Oct. 13. He’s suspected of using cocaine and other drugs in the brothel, which is owned by Dennis Hof. "He possibly ingested cocaine in the bathroom adjoining the bedroom. They [the sex workers] indicated that they heard him snorting,” the police report said, according to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. Authorities might press charges if cocaine is detected in his blood.
Part of what might have led to Odom’s emotional distress is that he realizes the manner he was found and the drug accusations that are swirling around him. "Lamar is beyond embarrassed for what he did,” a source told Hollywood Life in an exclusive report Thursday. “People look up to him as a role model and he feels he embarrassed his name and family along with the Kardashian family.” Even though Odom is “taking things very hard,” he wants to recover and “turn a new leaf.”
“With the help of Khloé, he looks to make that all a reality!” the source said.
The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" reality star and Odom signed divorce papers in July, but remain married due to a technicality in the California courts. After his medical health scare, they both signed documents that asked for the divorce to be dismissed. Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, said she has “nothing but love” for their decision to remain married.
