Lamar Odom Update: Khloé Kardashian’s Husband Moved From ICU, Source Says
Ex-NBA player Lamar Odom is still receiving dialysis at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but things are looking better overall. The husband of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Khloé Kardashian is no longer in the intensive care unit, People magazine reported Thursday.
Odom’s kidneys are reportedly failing after he was found unconscious at a brothel outside of Las Vegas Oct. 13. He woke up from a coma days later, but was given a “50-50” shot of survival. Since then, his condition continues to improve.
Since some of his gross motor function was lost when he suffered 12 strokes after a supposed overdose, he undergoes daily therapy, a source told People. He has regained some function. Although "he still has a long way to go," Odom is making progress. "He is doing very well and continues to be a fighter. He hasn't given up once, and this will really help him in the future,” the insider said. "After therapy, he is able to take a few steps with help."
"He is getting stronger every day," a different source told Us Weekly Thursday. "And has a great team of therapists and specialists working with him. He's 6 ft. 11 in. and weighs a lot, so getting him to walk a little has been really hard."
He and Kardashian, 31, called off their divorce after his medical scare. “His heart beats for Khloé,” a source told Hollywood Life Thursday, before Odom was moved out of ICU. “A few of Lamar’s organs may have shut down, but his heart never stopped beating.”
Despite calling off their divorce, it doesn’t mean the E! reality star wants to be back together with the ex-NBA star. "There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It's not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now,” she told People Wednesday. "It's out in the media that we are back together, but I wish people [would] understood that's not in our thought process right now."
