New behind-the-scenes pictures from the production sets of “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 have been released online. Lead cast member Alexander Dreymon, who will be reprising his role as Uhtred, recently filmed an action sequence.

A new behind-the-scenes photo posted on the Instagram page of “The Last Kingdom” shows Dreymon in full makeup, with blood on his face. The actor’s sword too is covered in blood, suggesting that he filmed a major action sequence on the set that day. The actor took a break from filming and had a popsicle in between takes.

The picture was originally posted by Dreymon on his Instagram page, and the actor joked about his character saving Wessex multiple times, often without any reward for his efforts. He wrote that if Uhtred was given a popsicle as a reward every time he saved Wessex; his name would be Uhtred of Diabetes.

Meanwhile, stunt coordinator Levente Lezsák appears to be getting a chance to direct an episode in “The Last Kingdom” Season 4. A picture of a clapper of the show posted on Instagram shows the name of the stunt coordinator as a director.

The episode that Lezsák is directing will include characters Osferth (Ewan Mitchell), Finan (Mark Rowley), and Sihtric (Arnas Fedaravicius). A behind-the-scenes video of these three actors shows them preparing for Season 4 by taking their respective horses for a small jog and a walk at the filming location.

Another behind-the-scenes picture from the production set shows Sihtric sitting in what appears to be Uhtred’s chair. Fedaravicius jokingly wrote in the post that his character pretends to be royal when Uhtred is not around.

Filming of “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 has been going smoothly so far. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. The premiere date may be announced after the filming wraps.
