'The Last Kingdom' Season 4: The 'Arseling' Is Back In New Photo
A new behind-the-scenes picture from the production set of “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 has surfaced online. The hair and makeup designer of the TV series has shared “one of the first new pictures” of Alexander Dreymon as Lord Uhtred.
After getting a new home at Netflix, there have been a few changes on “The Last Kingdom” TV series. The most visible changes have been the hair and the costumes. Uhtred is perhaps the most different looking character with a new hairstyle, which has been confirmed in the behind-the-scenes photos.
The hair and makeup designer of the show has shared a new picture of Dreymon riding a horse on the set on Instagram. The crew member said that it was an honor and a blessing to work with a professional like Dreymon.
The post refers to Dreymon’s character as “arseling,” a name that was more frequently used in the first two seasons of the TV series. The term was first used by the Saxon warrior Leofric (Adrian Bower), but it later became a nickname of Uhtred that was used is an endearing way after the two characters developed a bond.
Will Uhtred be called an arsling again in “The Last Kingdom” Season 4? It will be interesting to see how the Lord of Bebbanburg would react to such teasing now that he has established himself as a top commander with a group of loyal followers.
The word arseling comes from old English, and it means backwards. Uhtred got this nickname after he came back to Saxon lands as a Dane. A previously released video explained the meaning and usage of the term, along with a few funny scenes of Leofric using the word.
Filming is currently ongoing for “The Last Kingdom” Season 4. The show is set to return sometime later this year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
